Centrol gains major contract with leading food manufacturer

With three sites across England, Centrol will be providing total waste management for one of thesites. Business Development Manager Michael Dowd (pictured) said: “We are providing a zero waste to landfill service which means we will be recycling general waste, paper, metal, cardboard, glass and cans. The food waste will be taken to Orchid where it will go through a mechanical heat treatment and turned into energy pellets.”

To gain the contract it was a case of persistence paying off. “I cold called the food company in October and since made around ten visits, showing them that zero waste to landfill had many benefits,” said Michael. “There is now the potential of extending the contract to the other two AAK sites.”
